Dragon Quest Builders (Switch) Review

Minecraft: The JRPG

I admit I’m not a hardcore Minecraft fan. I enjoy playing that 3D pixel block-crafting series but am not the kind of person who spends hours creating exquisite masterpieces. However, as a fan of RPGs, I was drawn to Dragon Quest Builders, Square Enix’s take on the sandbox craft genre and a spinoff of the long-running Dragon Quest series. As a goal-oriented person, I resonated with the game’s mission structure, role-playing elements, and overarching plot.

Kirby Star Allies (Switch) Review

A Kirby Potluck

At last, the mainline Kirby series has finally returned to consoles. The game also borrows elements from other titles, such as ability combinations from Kirby 64 and 4-player co-op from Kirby’s Return to Dreamland. SteamWorld Dig 2 Review

Should You Dig It?

SteamWorld Dig 2 builds upon developer Image & Form’s growing SteamWorld universe and is the first direct sequel in the series. Although the game shares the first title’s core gameplay of digging down and exploring caves, a few tweaks change the game’s flow, ultimately for the better. Taking place after the first SteamWorld Dig, the game follows Dorothy, a robot shopkeeper who has taken it upon herself to discover the source behind mysterious earthquakes plaguing the steampunk, robotic city, all while searching for the missing protagonist of the first game, Rusty. During her adventure, she meets Fen, a sprite with electric properties and an attitude, and together they delve into the treacherous underground.
