Versatile developer Image & Form has covered tower defense, platformers, and tactical shooters, somehow connecting all of its games into one steampunk robot universe. Its latest project SteamWorld Quest: Hand of Gilgamech tackles the RPG genre, using a turn-based card battle system that keeps the adventure engaging.

SteamWorld Dig (Switch) Review

The Good, the Bad, and the Rusty

Hot off the releases of SteamWorld Dig 2 and SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition, Image & Form Games is one step closer to its SteamWorld takeover with the Nintendo Switch port of SteamWorld Dig. It’s a straight no-frills HD rerelease of the original 2013 title, but I still dig the mining adventure’s gameplay.

SteamWorld Heist: Ultimate Edition (Switch) Review

See You Space Cowbot

Developer Image & Form launched the original SteamWorld Heist on the Nintendo 3DS in 2015, introducing gamers to a unique brand of sidescrolling strategy. With the “Ultimate Edition” on Nintendo Switch, the company hopes to reignite that spark for anyone that missed it. And it does so with good timing, hot off the heels of its successful SteamWorld Dig 2 release. Although Heist is set in the same universe, the games couldn’t be further apart in gameplay and plot. So you don’t necessarily need to play one to understand the other.
