Music has always been an integral part of Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda series. Sometimes it ties directly into the plot, like in Ocarina of Time or The Wind Waker. Often, catchy songs like Koji Kondo’s iconic original theme and Breath of the Wild’s majestic melody become instilled into gamers’ hearts. Cadence of Hyrule presents an experience that not only celebrates generations of the franchise’s music, but also offers an adventure comparable to classic 2D Zelda games.

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate (Switch) Review

Everyone is Here!

What better word is there than “ultimate” to describe a massive video game crossover that includes every single character and then some from the long-running Super Smash Bros. series? It’s hard to imagine that we have a franchise where so many iconic gaming characters duke it out. Here we are with Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, a game that celebrates Nintendo and other major video game publishers that have brought joy to many people around the world.

SpiritSphere DX (Switch) Review

Zelda Meets Tennis

Camelot’s Mario Tennis series revealed how fun tennis could be in the wacky Mushroom Kingdom. But what if the sport expanded into The Legend of Zelda universe? Developer Eendhoorn and publisher Fabraz’s SpiritSphere DX seeks to answer that question, gathering characters inspired by the Zelda series to play a fantasy ball game.

World to the West (Switch) Review

Go West, Young Travelers

World to the West is a follow up to Rain Games’ first game Teslagrad, and is even set in the same universe. These two games couldn’t be further apart, though. While Teslagrad was a Metroidvania-inspired puzzle platformer, World to the West is a top-down adventure game reminiscent of titles like The Legend of Zelda and Secret of Mana. Its unique draw lies in its four playable characters, all of whom explore the world in diverse ways.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild – The Champions’ Ballad DLC (Switch) Review

We Are the Champions

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild has been one of the most successful games in the series. Eiji Aonuma and the development team created a vast, open world that resonated with many players. Through their reinventing of the classic franchise, the Breath of the Wild received the honor of Game of the Year at the 2017 Game Awards. But the event had a bigger surprise in store for Zelda fans: Nintendo revealed that the second DLC pack, The Champions’ Ballad, would be downloadable immediately that very same night.
